Hotel Kral is more than just a hotel. It is the story of a family that realized early on that business travelers need more than just a room for the night. What began as a small guesthouse is now one of the most established business addresses in Erlangen.
Over three decades of experience. Over 120 apartments.
And the same idea as on day one: providing people with a home away from home.

HOW IT ALL BEGAN

The idea behind Hotel Kral

A vision that was ahead of its time.

In 1993, Helmut and Gerlinde Kral founded the first guesthouse.
At the time, the property consisted of 14 apartments.

Every apartment already featured its own kitchen.
Today, that may seem like a given.

Back then, it was an innovation.

While many hotels focused on traditional rooms, Hotel Kral was an early pioneer of the "extended stay" concept.

Business travelers should be able to live independently while enjoying the benefits of a hotel.
An idea that remains the foundation of our establishment to this day.

1993

Growing with our guests

Growing together.

From guesthouse to apartment hotel.

The demand for flexible housing solutions for business guests grew steadily. In 1998, another building was acquired and converted into an apartment hotel. New apartments were created, and new opportunities were opened up.

Over the years, more buildings were added. Today, Hotel Kral comprises over 120 apartments in various sizes and styles — from compact business apartments to spacious family units.

Always with the same goal: to provide people with a place where they feel at home.

1993

First guesthouse

Helmut and Gerlinde Kral open the first building with 14 apartments — each already equipped with its own kitchen.

1998

Additional building acquired

A second building is converted into an apartment hotel. The guesthouse evolves into a concept.

Over 120 apartments
